Raising a child in today’s world comes with many challenges and when emotional or behavioral concerns arise, it can be hard to know where to turn. At Conway Psychological Assessment Center, we offer evidence-based therapy services for children, teens, and families designed to foster emotional growth, strengthen relationships, and build resilience.
Whether your child is having frequent meltdowns, struggling with anxiety, acting out at school, or withdrawing socially, therapy can help uncover the root of the problem and provide tools to support lasting change. Our clinicians specialize in working with children across the developmental spectrum and tailor each session to meet your family’s unique needs.
For families with young children (ages 2–7) struggling with defiance, aggression, tantrums, or difficulty following directions, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is a highly effective treatment. PCIT is a structured, evidence-based program that strengthens the parent-child relationship while improving behavior through live, in-the-moment coaching.
Parents are guided through two phases:
PCIT has decades of research behind it and is especially beneficial for families struggling with emotional outbursts, noncompliance, or early signs of oppositional behavior. It empowers caregivers with confidence, skills, and a stronger connection with their child.
As children grow, they face emotional and social challenges that can be difficult to navigate alone. Our individual therapy services support children and adolescents who are experiencing:
Therapy sessions are age-appropriate and developmentally informed, using a combination of play therapy, cognitive-behavioral strategies, mindfulness, and emotional coaching to help kids understand their feelings and learn healthier ways to cope.
For teens, therapy often includes building insight, problem-solving skills, and self-advocacy helping them better manage stress, relationships, and identity-related concerns.
We know that children don’t grow in isolation; family dynamics, parenting strategies, and environmental factors all play a role in emotional development. That’s why our therapists often include parents or caregivers in the therapeutic process through parent coaching, family sessions, or regular check-ins to help reinforce progress outside of therapy.
In addition to therapy, our center also provides:
Whether you’re just beginning to explore concerns about your child’s development or seeking ongoing support for long-standing issues, our team is here to help. We proudly serve families throughout Arkansas and surrounding states, offering clear answers, practical solutions, and compassionate care.
