Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Melissa Bell is a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of nursing experience and 13 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. She is passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-based care that addresses the whole person by recognizing the close connection between physical and mental health.

Melissa earned her Nursing degree from the University of North Georgia, her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Troy University, and her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree from Liberty University. Her dual certification provides a unique perspective that allows her to evaluate and treat both medical and psychiatric conditions, helping patients achieve improved overall wellness.

Throughout her career, Melissa has worked with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns. Her clinical interests include ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, PTSD, thought disorders, and mood disorders. She also has a special interest in hormonal influences on mental health, including emotional and behavioral changes associated with puberty, perimenopause, menopause, and men's hormonal health concerns. Additionally, she is trained to administer Spravato (esketamine) for treatment-resistant depression.

Melissa believes that every patient deserves individualized care that is collaborative, respectful, and focused on long-term success. She works closely with patients to develop treatment plans that support emotional well-being, physical health, and meaningful life goals.

When she is not caring for patients, Melissa enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
